For the past several months, S has been wanting to grow his hair long, so that he can have bangs!! I’ve tried explaining that his hair really won’t form bangs, but he has been undetered, and even wanted me and his nanny to braid his hair, which she attempted last Friday, but we concluded that he need to grow his hair a little longer before braiding was a viable option.

Tonight, however, I decided that we couldn’t stall any longer on J’s hair, which is finer, and when long, just forms bad knots in the back of his head that are uncomfortable, and unattractive. So, we decided tonight was the night for a trim for the baby (and pledged to leave S to grow longer hair). But, not to be outdone, S decided that after seeing J’s nice neat short hair, he wanted his short, too – and went for even shorter than his little brother. We would have ended up with a totally bald head, but I stopped at the 1/8-inch setting on the clippers. Maybe we’ll do more tomorrow…
